Thot
A THOT on ThotMarket.com is the equivalent of a stock of a company in a stock market. A thot consists of: a link to a URL somewhere on the web, a title, descriptive text, classifications for category and subject matter, an offer price and a trading price. There is also a setting for what percentage of a given thot is owned by the owner and the shareholders.
Shares
SHARES of thots in ThotMarket are what is bought and sold within the market. When you buy a share, you become a shareholder. Shareholders are entitled to dividend credit payments when they are produced by the thot.
Credits
CREDITS are the unit of currency within the ThotMarket system, sometimes called THOLLARS. They hold no monetary value whatsoever. Credits can be used to put new thots up on the market for trading. Shares are purchased and sold for credit.
Revenue
REVENUE refers to the amount of credit that a thot has accumulated as a result of people buying comments on it. This revenue is distributed to hsareholders if and when a dividend payment is generated.
Dividends
DIVIDENDS are payments of credit that are awarded to shareholders of a given thot. These awards are made in response to visitor comments that people have purchased for that thot. Dividends are distribute once a day. They will be triggered when a thot's revenue exceeds $100 or 1% of the number of shares (at 1 cent/share). Dividends are distributed eveny among shareholders of a given thot. If the thot's revenue does not trigger a dividend, the moeny will be carried over to the next day.
Profit
PROFIT refers to the net gain in credit that a user experiences when he or she sells shares of a thot for a higher price than they purchased them.
Loss
LOSS refers to the net loss of credit that a user experiences when he or she sells shares of a thot for a lower price then they purchased them.
Offer Price
The OFFER PRICE for a thot is the overall valuation of a thot that a user sets when making an initial offering. This is the amount of credit that a user must spend in order to bring the thot to market. This price will determine the initial market capitalization of the thot.
Trading Price
TRADING PRICE refers to the amount of credit that one share of a thot is worth at any given time. The posted trading price represents the least expensive shares available on the market at the current time.
Delisting
Thots will be DELISTED, or removed, from the market manually by the site administrators if there has been a violation of the posting policy.
Link
A LINK is the URL associated with a thot. There can be only one link associated with each thot and two thots can never have the same link.
Symbol
Each thot has a ticker SYMBOL that identifies it. The symbol is a series of alphanumeric characters that the thot owner sets when the initial offering is made. It serves as a short reference for a thot to help identify it in various parts of the system. SYMOBLS are ten characters long or less, cannot contain spaces, and must be in ALL CAPS.
Thollar
A THOLLAR is a term commonly used in the ThotMarket community to refer to the credits traded within the system.
