Notes on the Public Beta
Thank you for visiting the public beta version of ThotMarket.com. If you are new to the site, you can learn more about how it works here. The purpose of the beta period is to see how the site performs when the number of users increases. The site will be officially launched once we are confident that everything is working as intended.
It is difficult to jump-start a user driven website like this because of the chicken and egg nature of the process. The website won't attract visitors unless there is compelling content offered, but visitors are the ones who will populate the site with content. We hope that this public beta period will help solve this problem, by allowing us to slowly ramp up activity in a controlled manner.
In addition to testing the basic functionality of the site, the beta is meant to test some of the underlying settings that we have implemented. Some examples include: the amount of credit provided upon account creation, and the system that calculates trading price based. We can’t know how these types of things will perform unless we just start to let a group of users into the system. We may, at the end of the beta period, find that some of these values will have to be tweaked to fine tune market performance.
If you see the potential of a website like this, the way we do, we would appreciate any feedback that you feel compelled to provide us. This site is meant to cater to it’s users desires, so any suggestions that you have are an important part of it’s success. If you encounter any problems while browsing or trading, please let us know as soon as possible. If reporting a display problem with any of the pages, make sure to provide us with information about what browser software and version number you are using. Also, remember to identify what operating system you are running.
